2.4Ghz ‘Frequency’ Flags
August 24th, 2007 by webmaster
Hi all, after much debate at the last committee meeting it was decided (by ‘unanimous majority‘) that the use of frequency flags for 2.4Ghz transmitters has become pretty much redundant, and will therefore no longer be a requirement, effective immediately. they were originally introduced with the appearance of 2.4Ghz equipment as a continuation of the clubs rules on frequency control, but after six to nine months or so of use it has become apparent that they are no longer really needed.
Frequency flags WILL obviously still be a mandatory requirement for 35Mhz and 27Mhz use, don’t forget, it is the pilots responsibility to make sure that they display a relevant 35/27Mhz flag. Please ensure it has at least your name clearly marked upon it, a telephone number would be useful too.
Lastly, when switching back from 2.4Ghz to 35Mhz, as some of us do, don’t forget to pull your aerial up !
