How to Join

Here are 10 reasons to join The Basingstoke MAC

  1. Large well kept field
    The club boasts a large (approx. 3 Acres) of flying field that is regularly mown.
  2. Easy and close parking to flight line
    We also have easy and close parking to the flight line so no carrying of models and equipment over rough and long distances.
  3. Away from people and buildings
    The field is rented from a local farmer and is situated away from buildings, walks, pathways and electricity pylons.
  4. You can fly 364 days a year
    Unlike other nearby model flying clubs we can fly 7 days a week, 364 days a year!
  5. Long flying hours
    We can fly from 9:00AM weekdays, finishing at 8:00PM, and from 10:00AM on Saturdays and 11:00AM on Sundays (a good excuse for a lay-in) with a finish time of 7:00PM. There’s no finishing time for quiet electric models.
  6. 10% discount on all purchases at AMC
    The club has an arrangement with a local model shop Andover Model Centre in… you’ve guessed it Andover. Prove you’re a member of BMAC and you’ll receive an automatic 10 percent discount on all of your purchases!
  7. Special beginner starter packages available at AMC
    Neville at AMC has put together several starter packages at even better value for money aimed especially at the beginner.
  8. Helpful and friendly members
    The club is full of helpful and friendly members, come down to one of the meetings at the Rucstall Community Hall and ask one of our club members for advice, help or to check over your new pride and joy.
  9. Club meetings every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month
    As part of your membership fee you have free access to the Rucstall Community Hall where the BMAC meet every 1st and 3rd Thursday for a beer and a chat.(Click here to check out the dates).
  10. Do you really need any more reasons ?
The Basingstoke Model Aero Club always welcomes new members. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or “The Best Pilot on Earth” everyone’s welcome at the BMAC.

We do NOT have waiting lists and you can join us whenever you like. Experienced members are always willing to help and to give advise.

We do have strong safety regulations, but it’s necessary to keep our hobby safe.

Club membership runs from January 1st until December 31st and includes BMFA membership with public liability insurance up to £5,000,000.
