Website Updates

December 4th, 2009 by webmaster

The website, although it may not appear so, has been heavily updated today.

  • As decided at the AGM last night, the Rules and Regulations sections have been renamed to truly reflect their content as ‘Club Constitution’ and ‘Rules & Regulations’, some of the wording within these sections has been altered to reflect the change in titles, this does not alter the rules in anyway, just the titles of the sections.
  • One Committee statement in the Constitution has been change as per the AGM.
  • The Committee details in ‘contact us’ have been updated.
  • The Application form and details have all been updated in line with the decisions made at the AGM.
  • Plus many more tweaks, here and there.
  • Lastly, the backend software has been updated, to make the site more secure.

Mailing List emails

October 8th, 2009 by webmaster

Hi all,

Some of you may have notice a strange email in your inbox saying you’ve been added to a mailing list and to click a link to authorise it.

I just wanted to reassure you that it was the BMAC that has set this up and that it is safe.

The reason for this is so that the BMAC can very occasionally send out important information regarding the club, eg. a reminder for the AGM etc.

Obviously if you decide not to click the link and allow the it to be authorised, you wont be added to the list and you wont receive any emails from us.

Thanks and apologies for doing this unannounced.

Important Announcement (An Update)

October 8th, 2009 by webmaster

The Committee have now had the meeting mentioned below and have decided that we will all continue to work for the club as a committee should until the AGM in December.

We are working together in harmony for the good of the club, and to try and put a greater emphasis on ‘having fun’ which, after all, is the main reason we are all members.

To ease the workload the committee unanimously agreed that Jim Vart will take on the role of Treasurer and Paul Cabrelli will carry out the duties of the Chairman and Secretary until the AGM.

We are proposing to create a new role as ‘Membership Secretary’ to handle that side of things and to lighten the load on the Treasurer, so anyone who thinks they would like to fulfill that role should make it known at the AGM, likewise anyone wishing to take a more active role in the club by joining the committee should do the same.

Lastly, we’d like to reassure the membership that the remaining committee members are working together well and that the club is still in great shape.

BMAC Committee 2009.

Following the meeting held on Wednesday 30th September, the members listed below have now resigned from the committee -

Alan Seneviratne
George Worley
Colin Low

A committee meeting will be held within the next few days, an announcement will be made shortly afterwards notifying the membership of a Special General Meeting to be held in the very near future, the main purpose of which will be to elect a new committee.

BMAC E-Vent Help Needed

September 4th, 2009 by webmaster

The club would like your help in tidying up the field and putting up a couple of marquees on Saturday the 12th of September, the day before the E-vent.

If you own a petrol powered strimmer or leaf blower/garden vac then these would be most welcome.
Otherwise please bring yourself, gardening clothes, gloves, garden rakes, spades and eye protection (for strimmers etc).

As the old Chinese proverb says “many hands make light work” Please don’t leave it to the usual few.
Please support your club and lend a little muscle for a couple of hours.

We’ll have a BBQ and some refreshments for helpers.

We plan to start work at the field at noon on Saturday the 12th of September.

Look forward to seeing you all.
